FACILITATION REPORT ON CAPACITY BUILDING TO PRIMARY SCHOOL COMMITEES HELD AT NYAKITONTO ADP FROM 25TH JULY TO 27TH JULY 2013
1.0 INTRODUCTION
The 3 days training for capacity building to 9 primary school was conducted at Nyakitonto Areas Development Programme whereas the number of school commitees were involved in this special training . The schools which were involved in this training are:

ii. Nyakatoke Primary School
iii. Murubanga Primary School
iv. Mugombe Primary School
v. Buchuma Primary School
vi. Nyamnyusi Primary School
vii. Kisuma Primary School
viii. Kitema Primary School
ix. Nyamiyaga Primary School

1.2 FACILITATION PROCESSES
The 3 days training was conducted in 3 different venues and places as follows
1.2.1 DAY 1-NYAKITONTO WORD VISION OFFICE
On this day 5 schools Committees were involved i.e Nyakitonto, Nyakatoke, Murubanga, Buchama and Mugombe School Committees

Seven topic were covered i.e.
1.2.3 Foundation of School Management and Administration
1.2.4 School Committees: Responsibilities, compulsory Enrolment and attendance of pupils.
1.2.5 Communication
1.2.6 School Committee Meeting
1.2.7 School Development Participatory Planning
1.2.8 Financial Management
1.2.9 Balanced Scorecard(Non Financial Management)
1.2.2 DAY 2: NYAMNYUSI PRIMARY SCHOOL
On this day 2 school committee members attended this training i.e Nyamnyusi and Kisuma primary shool committees.
1.2.2.1 TOPIC WHICH WERE COVERED
Seven topic were covered(See no’s 1.2.3 - 1.2.9 above)
1.2.3 DAY 3 KITEMA PRIMARY SCHOOL
On this day 2 school committees attended the training i.e Kitema and Nyamihanga Primary School
1.2.3.1 TOPIC WHICH WERE COVERED
Seven topic were covered (see nos 1.2.3 – 1.2.9).
1.3 APPROCHES USED IN THIS TRAINING:
Participatory Approaches were used to involve the participants to share their experiences, views, opinions and knowledge which they had as adult learners.
These involved:
- Dialogue between the facilitator and school committee member
- Question and answers
- Group Discussion in small groups ranging between 5-8 members hence to present in front of others their ideas from their groups
- Buzz Session where as two partners had to discuss the related topics to capture their knowledge.
1.4 EVALUATION OF THE TRAINING
At the end of each day evaluation was done to see to it if the expected goal of the training was reached. The following were the areas evaluated:
1.4.1 If the members had already attended such training initially. Among 51 members attended this training only 7(13.7%) members had already attended the training. The rest 44(86%) members were their first time to get this training.
1.4.2 If the training can now enable the members to tackle their duties efficiently and effectively. Among 51 members interviewed 48(94.1) responded positively that the training was very useful to them to run school committee roles.
1.4.3 If the facilitator capacitated enough targeted topic to the participants. 51 members interviewed on how facilitators were able to present the topics, all of them responded positively that they were capable and knowledgeable leading to 100% positive answers
1.4.4 If the facilitated topics were enough to enable school committee members to run their school efficiently and effectively.
The participants had the opinions that in the forthcoming training the following should be observed:
· Number of the days of training to be increased up to 3 or 5 days so that they can learn all topic aritically.
· The school Development Plan must be explained in detail to enable the members become knowledgeable in it.
· The topic of entrepreneurship should be included in the training
· Hand out should be prepared so that participants can have reference while in field.
1.5 CONCLUSION
The facilitators concluded th1at the training achieved its goals for 70% because the attendance was as follows:

1.6 RECOMMENDATION
The facilitators recommend the following:
· Facilitator materials like flip charts, marker pens, masking tape should be prepared to enhance training go smoothly
· Moving facilitators from Kasulu town to the training centres to be well prepared to enable facilitators to arrive on time to the centres.
· Number of the days should be increased up to 3 -5 days each centre so that members of school committees can capture enough knowledge and skills to run their schools.
